Ben has over thirty year’s experience in the industry, winning BAFTAs and numerous other awards. His most recent broadcast was the first ever feature-length special for the hugely popular Red Planet drama “Death in Paradise” which was the most watched programme on British television over the Christmas period (after HMQ).
2022 saw Ben direct two feature-length episodes of “Mrs Sidhu Investigates” by Monumental Television for Acorn, which debuts in May 2023. Ben is also known for the hit comedy “Mrs Brown’s Boys.”
“As a director/producer for Mrs. Browns Boys over the last nine years Ben has been over and above anything I could have expected from him. No ideas are written off without being completely dismantled and for Ben nothing is too much trouble once it improves the outcome. Luckily what I needed to make Mrs. Browns Boys a success, Ben Kellett has in bucket loads. ”
Brendan O’Carroll, creator, writer and star of Mrs Brown’s Boys.
Ben has a multitude of major TV credits ranging from primetime entertainment shows, award ceremonies, drama to sitcom and sketch show. Ben made his feature film directing debut in 2014 with “Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie”, which was a number one box office hit. He is in his element in all aspects of production from single camera drama and comedy to multi-camera studios and OBs, live and recorded.
“Working with Ben at the BBC was an absolute delight. He makes things look wonderful, he’s calm under pressure in a live multi-camera studio environment and on location with single camera shoots. Great with people whether it’s the talent or his teams. It’s hugely reassuring and fun to have him alongside you…”
