Daymon has dedicated his life to storytelling. After being inspired as a child watching classic movies and TV drama, a spark was lit inside him to become part of that creative world. Daymon Fell in love with acting at school, where he excelled at drama. This early ambition to become an actor, combined with steely determination and resilience, enabled Daymon to carve a highly successful career, spanning over two decades and achieving over 200 hours of broadcast credits.
Daymon continued to develop a fascination for the journey of a character, and not only the one he was portraying. He became keen to inspire and support others to find that unique part of themselves, which would establish the magic of collaboration and bring stories to life. Daymon had discovered directing to be his true passion, and became further inspired by his many working relationships with many highly successful broadcast directors. He soon embarked on the road to filmmaking through the development of his own ideas, and in 2019 he was selected for the BAFTA crew programme, following a successful festival release of his BFI funded short film ‘Obsession’.
Following this success, Daymon’s directing talent has gained him RTS Awards for Directing both Drama and Comedy between 2020 and 2022.
His most recent television directing credit was for a block of episodes within Series 10 of the popular CBBC show, ‘The Dumping Ground’.
Daymon had such a positive and inspirational impact upon the show, he was subsequently asked to direct a set of character promotions for BBC online, and has taken up various invitations, including an opportunity to shadow on single camera BBC Comedy ‘Two Doors Down.’ After once again impressing the team with his dynamic and innovative approach, Daymon was invited to direct second unit, receiving a hugely positive response.
Daymon is now flourishing as charismatic and dynamic director, generating a buzz of excitement within the industry. At a recent event hosted by North East Comedy Hot House, Daymon was described as ‘one to watch’ and, as is living proof that, in the words of Walt Disney, “All dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.”
