Accessibility & Inclusion Co-ordinator Sam Oldknow.

MY EVEREST Premiering at BFI IMAX in April, and playing out in 22 screens across the UK, our indie film has been a success with audiences. Alongside this, both of us (disability consultant, Sam Oldknow, and director / editor Carl Woods) have been doing talks and Q&A’s on topics such as Accessibility and Inclusion in Film and Disability Representation on Screen. Using our experience of making a disability-led feature film in a very unequal industry, we have spoken at Manchester Film Festival, Midlands Art Centre, and BFI IMAX, BAFTA.

Our talks and Q&A’s often engage audiences and bring up discussions that help challenge negative perceptions towards disabled people. We also provide BTS content, social content, and discussion material in order to maximise our screenings for both in-person audiences and social engagement.
