season.02- ep’s 1-6
Join indie film-maker and film-lover Gage Oxley and special industry guests as they spill behind-the-scenes secrets and traverse their technique
EP 1. HAIR AND MAKE UP DESIGNER/LISA PARKINSON
We were honoured to be joined by the wonderful Lisa Parkinson for our first episode of Series Two! Lisa is a Makeup Designer (we're still workshopping a better job title which actually represents the huge amount of work she does), who has worked on some of the biggest and best TV in the UK - from working with Shane Meadows on "The Gallows Pole" and Yorkshire's own "All Creatures Great and Small", to winning a BAFTA for her work on the gritty drama "The Long Shadow".
EP 2. LOCATION MANAGER/BRUCE GILL
we had the pleasure to chat to the lovely Bruce H. Gill, who is a Unit Manager, Producer and Location Manager who has worked on some of my favourite TV shows: Happy Valley, Gentleman Jack, and Last Tango In Halifax.
Bruce has some incredible stories that showcase just how hard the 'production' machine works behind-the-scenes to bring Sarah Lancashire to our screens - from herding sheep to knocking down walls (both figuratively and literally).
EP 3. director/chris foggin
This week we spoke with the lovely film director Chris Foggin, the director of the incredible Bank of Dave and Fisherman's Friends. I also couldn't resist asking him about how it was to direct some of the biggest names for his short films: the list includes Dame Judi Dench, Rooney Mara and James Corden.
EP 4. PRODUCTION DESIGNER/GRENVILLE HORNER
This week we sat down with legendary Production Designer Grenville Horner, who worked on shows such as "The League of Gentlemen" and "End of the F***ing World". He chats about working his way up shows such as Saturday morning children's show "Multi-Coloured Swap Shop" to cult classic comedy show "Bottom" and period drama "Jane Eyre".
EP 5. line producer danny gulliver
I'm so thrilled to have the lovely Danny Gulliver as a guest on the podcast this week. Danny is known as a Producer and Unit Production Manager on some of the biggest shows and films in the world - including producing "House of the Dragon" and unit production managing the "Fantastic Beasts" series of films as well as
"Zack Snyder's Justice League".
EP 6. legendary actor george costigan
This week I have the privilege to chat to legendary actor George Costigan - known for his roles in "Rita, Sue and Bob Too", "Bottom",
"Line of Duty" and "Happy Valley"; and we hear about his early days in class with Julie Walters and performing in Willy Russell's "Blood Brothers".
George is a wealth of stories and insight - a masterclass talent and such a joy to get to chat to - from Desert Island Discs to Shirley Valentine and a promised movie night of "Tootsie".
