1. About Us
Film Buddy Ltd (“we”, “our”, “us”) is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. (09749997).
Registered Office: Brookes Mill, Armitage Bridge, Huddersfield, HD4 7NR.
Film Buddy Ltd operates as a creative education and industry-partnership organisation. We deliver training, mentoring, and placement programmes for students and graduates in film, TV, and media.
We also own and oversee FB Studios, our professional production division, which creates commercial, charitable, and educational projects under Film Buddy’s governance framework.
By using our websites, registering with us, or participating in our activities, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.
2. Our Mission
Our goal is to bridge the gap between creative education and industry practice by:
Providing structured work-experience and mentoring for students.
Partnering with universities and colleges throughout the UK.
Delivering professional productions through FB Studios.
Operating transparently and in accordance with UK law and ethical standards.
3. Eligibility & Disclaimer
Participation in Film Buddy or FB Studios programmes is open to individuals aged 18 or over, or 16–17 year-olds with verified parental or institutional consent.
Student participants must be currently enrolled in a recognised educational course or have recently graduated.
We reserve the right to refuse access to services where eligibility requirements are not met or conduct breaches our Code of Practice.
Information provided on our websites is for general guidance; while we take care to keep it accurate, we do not guarantee it is error-free.
Use of our sites and services is at your own risk.
4. Our Services
Film Buddy Ltd provides:
Educational placements, training, and mentorships.
Career development and networking opportunities.
Creative productions through FB Studios, including charitable, student, and commercial projects.
Each service may be subject to its own agreement or memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Film Buddy Ltd, the participant, and/or their university.
4A. International Students and Visa Compliance
Film Buddy Ltd and FB Studios welcome participation from international students studying at UK universities and colleges.
All international participants must hold a valid UK student visa (e.g. Student Route under the Points-Based System) and must comply with the conditions of their visa at all times.
Film Buddy Ltd does not act as a visa sponsor and does not provide sponsorship for work or study visas.
All placements or activities hosted by Film Buddy or FB Studios are educational in nature, carried out as part of a registered course with a UK institution, and do not constitute paid employment.
It is the responsibility of each international student and their university to ensure that participation in Film Buddy or FB Studios activities is permitted under their visa conditions.
Film Buddy Ltd and FB Studios accept no liability for any breach of immigration or visa regulations arising from a participant’s ineligibility or failure to comply with UKVI rules.
4B Facilitating Work Experience on External Productions
Film Buddy Ltd and its production division, FB Studios, may from time to time assist in arranging or facilitating work-experience placements for students on third-party professional productions, such as television dramas, feature films, or branded content projects.
These opportunities are educational in nature and offered under the supervision of the external production company, in collaboration with the student’s university or college.
Film Buddy Ltd acts solely as a facilitator — introducing or coordinating opportunities between students, education institutions, and production companies.
Film Buddy Ltd does not employ, contract, or pay students placed on external productions, nor does it act as the legal employer, agent, or sponsor for such placements.The host production company is fully responsible for:
Providing a safe and compliant working environment,
Ensuring appropriate supervision,
Holding and maintaining valid Employer’s Liability, Public Liability, and any other relevant insurance,
Complying with all applicable UK employment, health and safety, safeguarding, and data-protection laws, and
Managing any payments or reimbursements due to the student (if applicable).
All external placements must comply with:
The National Minimum Wage Regulations 2015 (Regulation 53),
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and
The UKVI Student Route Visa conditions, where applicable.
By accepting a student placement introduced by Film Buddy, the host production company acknowledges and accepts full responsibility for compliance with UK employment, health & safety, insurance, and safeguarding legislation in relation to that placement.
Film Buddy Ltd ensures that every placement it facilitates:
Is approved by the student’s university or course provider, Has defined learning outcomes and a limited duration, and Is supported by written confirmation from the external production.
Film Buddy Ltd may request and retain copies of insurance details, risk assessments, or safeguarding policies from the host production before confirming participation.
Film Buddy Ltd accepts no liability for the day-to-day management, conduct, or outcomes of external placements but will assist, where appropriate, in resolving issues collaboratively with the student’s university and the host production company.
5. FB Studios – Ethical Working Policy
Film Buddy Ltd owns and governs FB Studios, its professional production division.
FB Studios operates under an Ethical Working Policy that ensures:
All student and charitable projects are donated to the artist or organisation and delivered as educational experiences under university partnerships.
When FB Studios undertakes commercial commissions, all contributors—including students—are paid fairly (at least the UK National Minimum Wage).
FB Studios separates educational, charitable, and commercial work to remain compliant with UK employment and education law.

6. Project Agreements and Fees
All commercial or commissioned work is confirmed in writing, outlining scope, deliverables, and agreed costs.
Invoices are payable within 30 days unless otherwise stated.
Ownership of final deliverables transfers once full payment is received.
Late payments may accrue statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, though our approach is always collaborative.
7. Health, Safety & Safeguarding
We comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act 2006.
All placements and productions are risk-assessed and supervised by qualified professionals.
We maintain Employer’s Liability, Public Liability, and Professional Indemnity insurance.
Supervisors and mentors hold DBS checks where required.
Participants must follow all safety instructions during Film Buddy or FB Studios activities.
8. Equality, Diversity & Inclusion
Film Buddy Ltd and FB Studios are committed to equality and inclusion. We do not tolerate discrimination based on age, disability, gender identity, race, religion, sexual orientation, or background.
9. Intellectual Property
All intellectual property created by Film Buddy Ltd or FB Studios remains the property of Film Buddy Ltd unless agree to transfer the property or full pamyent is made.
Paid clients receive full usage rights or ownership upon completion and payment.
Students retain portfolio rights to showcase their work for personal or academic use.
Film Buddy and FB Studios may use completed projects for promotional or educational purposes unless otherwise agreed.
No Film Buddy or FB Studios material may be copied, distributed, or reproduced without written consent.
10. Data Protection
We comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Personal data is processed only where necessary to manage projects, placements, or communications.

11. Limitation of Liability
Film Buddy Ltd and FB Studios take all reasonable care to provide safe, professional environments.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or financial loss, including loss of profit or opportunity.
We are not responsible for the actions of third-party providers, mentors, or employers participating in our programmes.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for any matter that cannot be excluded under UK law.
12. Termination of Services
Either party may terminate an agreement by written notice if the other party breaches its obligations and fails to remedy within 14 days.
Upon termination, Film Buddy Ltd retains rights to recover fees for work completed.
We always aim to resolve matters amicably.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and any related agreements are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be handled exclusively by the courts of England and Wales.
